Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Vern Randall is originally from Arlington, Washington. He graduated from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and a commission as a Second Lieutenant of Infantry. LTC Randall later received a Master’s Degree in Liberal Arts (Military History) from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
LTC Randall has served in a variety of positions and assignments throughout his career in the U.S. Army. He has served in Mechanized, Light, Airborne, and Ranger Training infantry units as well as other combat advisor, advisor, and combined arms units. He has served as a Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, Company Commander, Staff Officer, Battalion Executive Officer, Battalion Operations Officer, Brigade Operations Officer, Combat Advisor, Advisor Team Leader, and as an Inspector General. LTC Randall has served in Europe, the Middle East, Southwest Asia, Asia, and various states within the United States. LTC Randall has deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina as part of Operation Joint Endeavor and deployed twice to Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
LTC Randall’s military schools include the Infantry Officer Basic Course, the Armor Officer Advanced Course, the Command and Staff Service School, the Command and General Staff College, the NATO Military Operations on Urban Terrain Course, Airborne School, Jumpmaster School, Air Assault School, Military Combatives Instructor Level I and II Courses, Joint Firepower Controller Course, and Ranger School. His decorations include the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, and the NATO Medal.
LTC Randall served honorably for over 24 years in the U.S. Army and retired on August 1, 2017. LTC Randall is married to Mrs. Angela Randall and has two children, Alyssa and John.
